Synthia Space Explorer
The “Synthia” project emerged from the idea of a character design in a 3.75-inch action figure format.
I proceeded with a synth-pop theme and a character that would evoke the 80s. He transformed into a mutant character and took shape as a synth pop enthusiast for the keytar instrument, a mutant keytarist. I named the character Synthia based on his favorite music style. Then, I prepared the packaging design in a retro toy format with a cardboard back, along with a different colored version.
In order to ensure that the character connects with collectors, I created and shared a synth-pop playlist on Spotify that we assumed the character liked.
With the “Space Explorer” versions of the character, this time I customized the packaging design differently from the classic Kenner style dimensions. I preferred to use a simple layout on the front of the cardboard back. I added the 14+ age information to the character’s name and version information, and my name and production year below as the designer.
On the back, this time I wrote the character's life story in detail and added a QR code for the Spotify Playlist. At the bottom of the back, I added the version / serial number information and the signature box.

Get to know Synthia:
Synthia took piano and guitar lessons from an early age. Despite her passion for music, she studied chemistry at the insistence of her family.
After graduating, she worked in various laboratories in the cosmetics sector. She participated as a test subject in the R&D project of a newly developed cosmetic product in the company she worked for. Unexpected side effects of the chemicals used in the product caused mutations on her face and different parts of her body. After the court process that continued in parallel with the long-term treatments, she managed to receive a large amount of compensation from the company she worked for.
In the following period, he took action for his childhood passion and started his music career. Influenced by the popular music trends of the 80s, he made songs with synth-pop influences. He performed in the popular discos and nightclubs of the period, as well as in municipal public concerts.
By the end of the 80s, the stormy life he was living had a negative impact on his musical career, leading him to move away from the stage.
In 1991, she settled in Houston with her American pilot lover Richard. During Richard's NASA missions, it was discovered that Synthia had a metabolism resistant to space travel as a side effect of the mutation she had. She participated in astronaut training upon NASA's invitation. Thus, she became involved in galactic exploration projects.
Synthia has still not returned from a space expedition she was sent on for the "Find Your Planet" project.
